The goals and objectives of the Summer Missionary Program are twofold:
- To assist SEND International of Alaska in an ambitious summer schedule of physical and spiritual endeavors.
- To enrich the Summer Missionary by exposing him/her to missions with the aim of strengthening a personal development, spiritual insight and dependence on God.
The program is designed to help young people gain a better insight into the realities of missionary work and God’s will for their future involvement. It provides the opportunity for them to experience a greater dependence on Him for the supply of finances, strength and wisdom; and it strives to stimulate them to spiritual, emotional and vocational development. A valuable and lasting sense of purpose and direction can be gained away from the pressures of campus or urban life by interacting with like-minded young people and with experienced missionaries.
